Martha Rodriguez Coke

 

Born in 1974 in Baracaldo, Biscay. He studied with Makutxa de Amézaga and at the same time graduated from the Royal National Dance Conservatory of Madrid. In 1990 - 1992 she received a scholarship from the Provincial Council of Vizcaya. In 1993 - 1998 he joined the Víctor Ullate Dance Company. 1998 - 2004 continues her career with the American Ballet Theater in New York. He returns again to the company of Víctor Ullate for 3 years. In this period he obtains the degree of superior dance studies. And in 2008 - 20013 she joins the Royal Swedish Ballet in Stockholm. In her extensive career she has danced roles such as: Kiteria, Paquita, Myrtha, Sílfides, Diana and Actaeon, Corsair, Sleeping Beauty, Flames of Paris, or Queen of Dryads with whom she received excellent reviews during her time in New York. She has danced at different national and international festivals such as: Taormina, Nervi, Perelada, Granada, Madrid, Lyon, Biarritz, Cannes, Wiesbaden, Colorado, Mexico City, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. She is a guest at the tribute to Maya Plisétskaya, directed by Alfio Agostini and held in Cannes. In addition to her extensive classical repertoire, she has danced pieces by choreographers such as: Hans Van Manen, Jirí Kylián, Maurice Bejart, Christian Spuck, Mark Morris, Christian Holder, Pedro Berdayes, Víctor Ullate, Eduardo Lao, Nils Christie, Micha Van Hoecke, and Mats Ek. 

As a teacher, she is a visiting professor at the Royal Swedish Ballet school and at the Professional Conservatories of Burgos and Valladolid, and she also teaches classes at the Madrid professional dance association. She currently directs her school, collaborates as a specialist teacher at the Burgos and Valladolid conservatories and is invited to international dance companies and courses in Italy, Spain and Portugal.
